In my role as Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and
Media, it has been a busy few months as we prepared to reopen these
sectors in as safe and timely manner as possible, whilst continuing to
provide support to those who have been hit hardest by the Covid-19
pandemic.
I’m sure you, like myself, have been shocked by the devastating
images emerging from Ukraine, and as the situation in Ukraine
intensifies, Ireland stands in solidarity and condemns Russia’s
unjustified and unprovoked attack.
In March, the Government, alongside the Irish Red Cross, launched
a national pledge portal to register potential accommodation and
