In May I hosted a public meeting on “Future Proofing our Community” in Taney Parish Centre.

Trevor Sargent, Dr Cara Augustenborg of Friends of the Earth and Ruth Buggie from SEAI presented different ways in which individuals and communities can transition to a sustainable future.

We heard about how we can source and grow local food and how we can save money on electric transport and make our homes warmer through availing of SEAI grants.

The energy in the room was fantastic, with many interesting ideas and questions coming from the audience –there was a clear desire in the hall for a change when it comes to creating and using energy in our communities.
